Second chances aren’t often given, especially for an artist who walks away from his record deal with a major label. Ca$h Out, who split with Epic Records and had subsequently been written off as a one-hit wonder, is very much so aware of this fact and has made it his mission to take full advantage of the second shot he’s been given. “Some may leave a label and just lose confidence, but it’s always in me to no matter what keep going,” says the rapper, who seemingly is more confident than ever. He has every reason for the confidence, because since his departure from Epic, the rapper, who burst on to the scene with the hit, “Cashin’ Out”, has been cruising along on his way to a comeback.

Releasing the right record at the right time was all that was necessary for Ca$h Out to reignite his career. That record was “She Twerkin.” Starting off bubbling in the streets of Atlanta, the record soon flooded clubs all throughout the South and eventually ended up on the Billboard Hot 100, among other places. “You had Rihanna dancing to it on a boat,” he says when discussing the song which was instrumental in jump starting his current hot streak. “That record put me back where I needed to be.”

Aside from the success of “She Twerkin”, the release of buzz worthy projects like his debut album, Let’s Get It and the mixtape Kitchens & Choppas, appearances on tracks with PartyNextDoor, Migos, and Lil Durk and touring with Ty Dolla $ign also kept Ca$h Out buzzing throughout the majority 2014. In keeping the momentum going strong into the new year, the 24-year old rapper is prepping the next phase of his career. He’s currently working on his Less Stress, More Sex project, which he promises will be “a strong body of R&B music.” Yes, Ca$hOut is experimenting with R&B. The project’s first offering is the hashtag-ready, slowjam, “WYD.” Life + Times recently caught up with Ca$h Out to not only find out what’s up next for the rapper, but also to get the stories behind the records that have helped create his recent underground takeover.
