Ksubi‘s SS12/13 collection is born from the street: the art, the urban landscape and everything in between. Showcasing the Spring 12 collection, Bad Sports, alongside Summer 12/13, The Last Resort, ksubi created a sense of nonchalant nonconformity — an ode to its past, a hint at its future. While first and foremost a denim brand, ksubi has extended beyond their iconic confines and paired jeans with layered jackets, unique shapes, and nylons with metallic finishes. Ending with a tongue-in-cheek reference to surf and skate, ksubi’s take on resort took the form of palm tree and Hawaiian prints. Created out of a culture where kids skate, surf and create mess and noise, ksubi is a design collective that breeds individuality and authenticity. Representative of this was the runway installation inspired by contemporary New York-based artist, Dan Colen, a recent subject of Life+Times. Here, we take a look at one of Australia’s most recognized brands – look by look.
