Dover Street Market Opens NYC Doors

COMME des GARÇONS has unveiled the newest addition to its Dover Street Market (DSM) family. Located in the Murray Hill section of New York City in a space once occupied by the New York School of Applied Design for Women, DSM New York features an array of well-established brands including Supreme, Raf Simons, A.P.C., Jil Sanders, Rick Owens, Visvim, Saint Laurent Paris and Thom Browne as well as up-and-coming designers like Phoebe English, Proper Gang, and Craig Green. DSM New York is also home to exclusive collections from Nike, Louis Vuitton, and Prada.

“I want to create a kind of market where various creators from various fields gather together and encounter each other in an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos,” says COMME des GARÇONS founder Rei Kawakubo about the concept behind DSM of which she oversees the design and creative direction. As with the London and Ginza stores, DSM New York also houses the Paris-based, British-style Rose Bakery, where guests can sample salads, soups and pastries.
