“I have to admit, I am no longer a fan of celebrity. It’s taken over too many areas of my society. I am trying hard not to say I hate celebrity, but I am close, because it has become too much a part of popular culture and it has spread like a fungus. There are so many celebrities, springing up like mushrooms or should I say weeds? That is why I travel to interesting parts of the world and mingle more with foreigners and academia or politically conscious souls that have opinions beyond North American values. Of course, silly as it may sound, I don’t consider all celebrated people ‘celebrities.’ How do I discriminate? By how others react to them and how they themselves respond.” – Bethann on “CELEBRITY”
