“What determines an Icon? In our popular culture, there are very few Icons to my knowledge. In my industry no one denies Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford. More often than not, I am introduced as an Icon. I accept that, if so many people say it, then I rest my case. In sports, I would think Michael Jordan no doubt is an Icon. But in this technological society, with popular culture not nurturing or even knowing the lasting endurance of a specific person, there will be less and less Icons. You have to be in the public as someone who has lasted the test of time and remains popular and significant.” – Bethann on “WHAT MAKES AN ICON”
