“I was called by The National Basketball Players Association to cover the lockout negotiations at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. I was well aware of the intense debates, but had no idea how high profile this particular day was going to be. All of a sudden, I opened the door to the conference room and everyone’s attention shifted my way. I did a double take and realized I was standing in the room with everyone from LeBron James and Dwayne Wade to Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant. Talk about a dream assignment. I spent the whole day being a fly on the wall and documenting a real pivotal moment in NBA history.”
