ART & DESIGN

Opening today, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) premieres Hedi Slimane’s debut West Coast solo exhibit, taking stage at MOCA Pacific Design Center until the end of January 2012. Titled California Song, the work showcases Slimane’s photographic period focused on all things related to California, providing an analysis into urban youth culture and artistic communities via his black and white aesthetic. “Hedi Slimane has created a new and fresh visual language for youth today,” states MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch. “His black-and-white images capture the essential expression of the emerging art, fashion, and music scenes around the world.”
