Beenie Man

“As a fan of Jamaican culture and music, and as a hip-hop enthusiast, it was an honor to shoot Beenie Man and hang out with his entourage over the course of four days in Toronto. By the third and fourth days of accompanying Beenie Man and his crew to music video sets, concert halls, hotels and nightclubs, he was very comfortable and allowed me to take some great portraits of him. During that trip, I learned that Beenie had been a prodigal son of Jamaican music since he was in elementary school. I also learned that he had lived in Toronto for a few years during his career and that he has a profound knowledge of classic films.”
