Tortuga Bay, the luxury boutique hotel designed by iconic designer Oscar de la Renta, has been honored with the prestigious Commitment to Quality Award by The Leading Hotels of the World. And if you spend some time on the luxurious property, it’s no surprise the hotel which is comprised of 30 suites in 13 villas and located in the Punta Cana Resort & Club in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic, nabbed the accolade. The development of Grupo PUNTACANA Resort & Club dates back to 1969 when Dominican businessman and hotelier Frank R. Rainieri and Theodore W. Kheel created a partnership to construct a resort and real estate community that respects the natural habitat of its location while offering a world-class vacation experience. And since its inception, it has certainly held up to its original mission. Over the years, the property, with Mr. de la Renta’s involvement, has since grown to encompass over 26 square miles and now includes Tortuga Bay, Six Senses Spa, the PUNTACANA Ecological Foundation, residential communities, an airport and more. Looking for luxury (and a side of fashionable interiors)? Look no further–you’ve found the place.
