“‘No Air’ was originally a song that was for Whitney Houston. That was also with the Underdogs. A lot of people would ask me what that song is about and I would make up different answers, because I didn’t want to explain the fact that that song was about aliens. That song is about two people that are on different planets. If you listen to it it’s talking about all of this shit about gravity and space and shit. The music for that song in the beginning was like background music for a seminar for families of unsolved murders or something. One of the Underdogs came in and heard the piano and we ended up writing a song for Whitney Houston. That was actually my first big hit. My first multi-platinum thing. That was the beginning of my professional confidence.
