Aesop’s Interiors

ART & DESIGN
Australian skin care brand Aesop was established in Melbourne in 1987 with a quest to create a range of superlative products for the skin, hair and body. Launched by founder Dennis Paphitis (who comes from a family of hair stylists), he’s been at the helm of the brands global expansion, setting up retail shops around the world that all are completely different from one another. Committed to using both plant-based and laboratory-made ingredients of the highest quality and proven efficacy – particularly those with the greatest anti-oxidant properties, the latest Aesop boutique is about to open in New York’s West Village on Bleecker Street. Acting as Manhattan’s flagship, the store will open mindful of the generations of provocative and progressive artists, writers, and musicians who have flourished in the neighborhood since the mid-nineteenth century. In keeping with a distinctively bohemian aesthetic, core materials for the interior will be wood, leather, and brass and in recognition of their new opening, we take a global tour of some of the most innovative Aesop stores as well as a peek at Bleecker Street’s newest neighbor.
