Coming of Age

With their gaming arcade Babycastles, Kunal Gupta and Syed Salahuddin look to spur an indie subculture amidst the big business domination of the video game industry. Taking a gallery approach to showcasing their games and those from other developers, a notion of “gaming as a playable art” underlines their work. Thus, Babycastles was invited to show at the Museum of Moving Images in Astoria, Queens a few months ago. Life + Times was there to capture all of the heavy lifting.
