On Felix Cartal’s latest single, “Let It Go,” the Canadian producer combines pop and electronic elements in a way that’s far from coerced or cliché in the sea of pop-EDM collabs. The track is one of three from his forthcoming EP, Credits, due out on April 29th via Steve Aoki’s imprint, Dim Mak Records. Another striking detail of “Let It Go” is the beautiful and soulful vocals of Lily Elise. “This song serves as the final piece to my Credits EP, an EP of three songs that all complement each other differently. I wanted to continue the idea of my last EP where each song is different, but still sound like they are from the same sessions. My favorite part of this track has to be the ‘Let It Go’ break. It’s simple and powerful at the same time. Lily Elise made that all possible. Her voice is unreal,” Felix says.
“Let It Go” is the perfect made-for-film soundtrack to its accompanying black and white video. “I love what Kasey Lum came up with for the video. We filmed all day just around our city and I think the blend of animation with black and white footage creates this interesting surrealist vibe – a perfect complement to the song itself.” Here, Life + Times exclusively unveils the official “Let It Go” music video.
