Whitney’s rapid raise in music catapulted her into Hollywood. In 1992, she starred in The Bodyguard opposite Kevin Costner, playing a star that hires protection after being tormented by a stalker. The blockbuster film spawned Houston’s signature hit “I Will Always Love You.” Her rendition of Dolly Parton’s hit went on to win Grammys for Record of the Year and best female pop vocal and sold more than four million singles.
