Sometime the best idea is the simplest. A couple of years ago, Dazed & Confused devoted an entire issue to Madonna and asked me to do a still life image inspired by my favorite album covers. I spent a week drawing and painting intricate portraits of her but nothing was working. I was going mad! I got to the shoot and abandoned everything, I cut this out in about five minutes and we shot it in about 20 seconds.
