“These are the woods in Kansas near where I was born. My father and I were walking around when I was back home for the holidays a few years ago. The light was so soft and the air smelled so good, like leaves and branches; fresh and crisp. It had been a while since I had left New York. We came across this tree whose limbs were bare and almost completely horizontal. The site of it amongst the others was awe-inspiring. I couldn’t help but wander, after the photo was developed, what it would look like as a reflections of itself, so I flipped the image in post. As a large print, and even here as you see, there are so many interesting things happening. The detail is quite impressive, and I love the back and forth personality of the focus plane.”
