“I had actually gone to take a picture of Doug E. Fresh. He was shooting a video somewhere. I don’t remember, somewhere in New York. It was some recording studio somewhere, and there was a whole load of people hanging around. A lot of very Hip-Hop, stylish looking people, and there standing against the wall was Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, and they just looked like one of the most beautiful couples I’d ever seen. She was pregnant, and I just went up to them and said, “Can I take a picture?” and that was the story. She’s holding her belly, he’s holding her hand. I just think it’s kind of a really beautiful picture. They’re so gorgeous. I didn’t really speak to them, they were just hanging out on the video shoot.”
