“Rhymefest is my brother and family. I met Fest through my fam Phonte of Little Brother. Fest was finishing up his album, so I came in at the end of the project. I sent him some beats and I remember him calling me when I was out in Florida with my family. He told me the beats were incredible and that he was at the end of his budget, so he could only pay for two beats, but wanted to use four. I genuinely accepted and told him to pay me for the two and I would just give him the other two beats no charge. Not knowing that months later this good deed would translate into him playing beats for Kanye for me.”
