“My Love is Your Love” is very special to me, because I grew up in East Orange [New Jersey] and Whitney is of course the Jersey Queen. When we got the phone call from Clive Davis to work with Whitney her album was basically finished. They needed one more song. That’s Whitney’s daughter in the beginning and at the end of the record. It was a very special record. Whitney and I have the same birthday. I had never met somebody with the same birthday as me before her. When I found that out I was like “We are friends for life now.”
