“Night of Your Life” – David Guetta feat. Jennifer Hudson

David Guetta apparently was a huge fan of “Only Girl in the World.” He told his manager “Where is this person that wrote this song? I need to work with her.” They found out it was some little girl in Decatur, Georgia named Crystal and he was like “Ok. That’s where we’re going.” He came to Atlanta and the first night I met him he played this track. It just put me in a trance. His tracks are special in that way. So I’m sitting there writing the song and we all think the song is amazing, but we just don’t know who’s going to sing it. Months ended up going by and as he’s finishing up the album then he tells me “Jennifer Hudson recorded the song.” I didn’t see it at first. I was like “Jennifer Hudson wanted to sing this song?” I knew she was an incredible singer, but I didn’t quite hear her sing that song. When I finally heard the song…she just nailed it. I think she and the song brought something out of each other. She brought something out of the song that wasn’t there and the song in turn brought something out of Jennifer, that no one knew was there. She just nailed it.
