North Beach House by Heliotrope Architects (Washington, United States)
The home’s site is historically protected (it was a summer residence for the native Lummi Indians!) and on a flood plain, so the owners couldn’t excavate or set a foundation into the ground. The result? A very low-impact, easy to maintain summer home that is no distraction to the beauty of the surrounding ocean and forest.
