“MOMENTS” Explores the Work of Photographer Denis Piel

Famous for his cinematic approach—asking subjects to play out a role in the same way a director works with his cast—Denis Piel became one of the most sought after photographers of the late ’70s and ’80s. Rizzoli is immortalizing the iconic photographer in his first monograph. While most books on the photographer document his black and white images, MOMENTS displays his work in living color. Denis Piel: MOMENTS features images spanning his career including nudes of women who would eventually become the supermodels and actresses that define a new generation: Christy Turlington, Uma Thurman, Gia Carangi, Tatjana Patitz, Kelly LeBrock and Jamie Lee Curtis.
