MUSIC

The theme song to Beverly Hills Cop

“I got so excited when I heard this! This song makes perfect background music no matter what you’re doing. I think I was riding in an elevator when this came on and I must say, it was the best elevator ride of my life.”

“Start It Up” by Lloyd Banks feat. Swizz Beatz Kanye West, Ryan Leslie & Fabolous

“Favorite Line: “These ain’t even real clothes homie/I’m Pajama Rich!” I love every verse in this song. It starts off strong with Lloyd Banks and by the time it got to Kanye and Fabolous, I had already bought the explicit AND the clean versions of this song on iTunes.”

“Young Americans” by David Bowie

“David Bowie is a true artiste and I have enjoyed his music and all his many incarnations. Even though I know this song and own it on CD, I had to Shazam it to remind myself to get the digital version. This is a good song to have come on randomly while driving. The horns and the piano all bring a sort of jazzy pop to the streets as you coast into the hot night to come. I was on my way to dinner in LA when I heard it and even the traffic lights began to sparkle in a wondrous way. I love, love, LOVE this song.”

“All of the Lights” by Kanye West

“This song makes me feel so excited everytime it comes on! I don’t know one person who doesn’t go nuts when they hear it, whether in the club or at the grocery store. From “Flashing Lights” to “All of the Lights,” I think it’s safe to say that no one writes about lights better than Mr. West.”
