Rico Love‘s Midas touch has been bringing in gold and platinum plaques for almost ten years now. Since landing on the scene after writing “Throwback” from Usher‘s mega-seller Confessions, the Milwaukee native’s effortless writing style has led to hit records for Beyonce, Natasha Bedingfield, Diddy and many others. “I just be in the studio writing songs, man,” he says. “Sometimes there are no specific inspirations. I’m just in there writing songs and having fun.” He’s also struck gold with his production on records for Hip Hop’s elite like T.I. and Rick Ross. Now with a new home for his Division 1 imprint, Tiara Thomas on his team and the release of his latest EP Discrete Luxury Rico is prepping for his next chapter. The hitmaker recently sat down with Life+Times and here, he tells us the stories behind records like Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams,” Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” and Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home).”
