This image of Amerie applying her own makeup base was taken at her Continental Hotel room in NYC. It was on the set for her video for “I’m Coming Out”, which was a remake of the popular Diana Ross hit. It was for the Maid in Manhattan movie soundtrack. This is one of many rare outtakes that have gone mostly unseen. I just showed up on this set and was granted access to shoot whatever I wanted. I got to know Amerie well enough to call her a friend in those days. She’s a highly intelligent and funny woman.
