I fell for dance music when I bought the “Groove Is in the Heart” single of Deee-Lite. The A-side was a big tune, but the B-side “What Is Love?” had a very techno mood that appeal to me. It was an open door that [brought] me into house and electronic music. [The] year ‘89 had so many timeless house tracks [from] Inner City, LFO, Lil’ Louis. This love for electronic music allowed me to project myself as a DJ. I thought I could bring something original as a hip hop DJ, making bridge between rap, old school electro, Detroit techno, Chicago house, and European EDM. The most influential LP of my life is Gesamtkunstwerk from Dopplereffekt and Fear of a Black Planet by Public Enemy.
