“The Brandy record I actually did two years ago in a garage with my friend Courtney Harrell. We wrote the song not knowing it was gonna be for Brandy. We just wrote a song. The producer Harmony was shopping it around. Next thing you know he told us Brandy wanted to cut the song. For me that was really a big thing. Brandy was someone that I looked up to. She was one of my big influences. Her voice, that raspy tone that she has and her harmonies – everything she does. It was just great. I was just so excited to hear her voice on a song I wrote, because I’ve been studying her for so long. It was just super exciting.”
