“This is another beat I originally created for the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. My dude Glen Reynolds wrote and sung that hook in our session. I started communicating with Kweli via Twitter. He was featured on a record that I produced for Stat Quo, so after that I started sending him records. I’ve always been a fan of Kweli. He told me he hadn’t heard a beat CD this good since the first Ye CD he got. That meant a lot to hear him say that. From there we just kept working and he loved the “Push Thru” beat. Later on I found out Kendrick and Currensy had hopped on it. Kanye actually wanted this record, but didn’t tell me he wanted it til after Kweli had already purchased it.”
