The 2012 NCAA tournament has delivered many memorable moments the past two weeks. With the Final Four set to tip-off in New Orleans on Saturday, Life + Times has complied the standout plays from primetime student-athletes of the tourney. From threes to monster jams, we’ve got you covered.
Royce White Takes on Anthony Davis and Kentucky
What makes this play so special is the skill set of Iowa State big man, Royce White. After playing stellar defense on the opposite end and coming away with the steal, the 6’8”, 270lbs sophomore (he averaged 13.1 ppg, 9.2 rbg and 5.1 apg), dribbles the ball the full length of the court –with the NBA top prospect Anthony Davis draped over him– and elevates just below the free throw line for the right-hand slam. There’s only one player his size that can pull that off– his name is Lebron James. That’s why it wasn’t a shock when White declared for the NBA draft after the Cyclones fell to Kentucky in the third round of the South regional.
