Diamond Is Forever

A renowned collector, legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor possessed some of the world’s most priceless jewels. Some she purchased on her own, while others were gifted to her from husbands and friends, like Michael Jackson. Here, with Rahul Kadakia, Head of Jewelry of Christie’s America, Life+Times takes a behind-the-scenes look at these timeless gems, which go up for auction at Christie’s in December.

A portion of profits from the sale of select publication, exhibition tickets and event sponsorships related to the sales will go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF).

Fans of Ms. Taylor’s collection can also see the pieces in the The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor, which is now available at Christie’s.

What is interesting that diamonds term comes from adamao – the Greek word that means anything other than overcoming them, and ADAMAS word that was used to describe the substance of the disk. But over the centuries diamonds were a symbol of power, luxury and stubbornness. A diamond is also a symbol of beauty.
